2017 LANSCA New Year Luncheon
Like the remarkable crowing of the rooster as the sun rises in the morning, LANSCA started strong in 2017 showcasing its continued efforts to strengthen educational, cultural and commerce exchanges between the cities of Los Angeles and Nagoya.
LANSCA members and friends were welcomed by LANSCA Chairwoman Teruko Weinberg and Consul General of Japan at Los Angeles Deputy Consul General Kazutoshi Hayashi.
At the luncheon, the Student Exchange Committee was launched announcing the leads, Dr. Dixon Perey and Ms. Erika Lopez, both from the Los Angeles Unified School District and long time supporters of the Student Exchange Program, and past exchange students Mr. Brandon Nekookar and Ms. Alexandra Russell provided their perspectives and experiences about the program to further communicate the importance and appeal of this exchange program.
Continued efforts for cultural and commerce exchange programs were also presented. LANSCA also welcomed its longest standing member, Ms. Jean Tsuchiya, who was instrumental to taking LANSCA to where it is now.
